Architectural theory defines infrastructures – which determine the development and perception of urban spaces – mainly as technical artifacts. Interlinks between social, political, cultural and aesthetic aspects and their enactment upon urban developments are usually overlooked. From the perspective of film, media, cultural and architectural studies, the essays of the book explore synergetic effects between film, urban planning and architecture in order to discuss new approaches in urban planning.
